Job Purpose/summary

  • Responsible for driving the company’s vision, strategic business direction and overseeing the achievement of the growth of the Company
  • To develop and implement global strategies that would ensure the growth of the business and enhance staff performance.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Drive the realization of the company’s strategic direction and oversight to the management team to drive the Company’s business towards profitable and sustainable growth
  • Lead the company-wide annual business planning and budgeting process
  • Report and make recommendations on the annual budget, short and mid-term plan to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
  • Liaise with the relevant industry, government and/or regulatory bodies ensuring that the company’s interests are presented and protected
  • Articulate high level corporate strategies and growth plans and manages Divisional leaders as they translate them into business unit and operational strategies
  • Create an enabling environment that empowers all employees to develop the capability to proactively respond to opportunities and challenges in the business environment and deliver on agreed objectives
  • Define and/or ratify organizational standards across business units and departments ensuring the organization adopts leading practices
  • Prepare and present periodic business performance reports, including recommendations for improvement to the CEO
  • Monitor the company’s performance to ensure effective implementation of the decisions of the Board of Directors
  • Oversee the presentation of statutory reports and drives the implementation of recommendations arising from statutory reviews (e.g., audit, tax, risk etc.)
  • Shape the definition of sustainability and social responsibility within the company and leads the adoption of the appropriate culture to entrench sustainable and socially responsible practices
  • Lead participation in and contribution to market business development activities external to the company, including identifying and pursuing new potential client service opportunities.
  • Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated are all the way from the top of the hierarchy in the company and they are followed at all times
  • Serves as external spokesperson for the company including managing relations effectively with stakeholders such as shareholders, investors, strategic partners, the media and government if need be.
  • Manage all monthly and they key meetings with both internal and external constituents of the company.
  • Lead, negotiate and project manage the implementation of new partnerships/initiatives– from preparing agreements and operating procedures to managing communications with key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with interline partners and internal departments to ensure a smooth implementation.
  • Negotiate agreements and competitive rates with business partners.

Qualifications & Experience


  • First degree in Finance, Business Administration, Social Science or any relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) working experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in Business Development, Marketing and Sales function in the Aviation Industry.
  • Professional membership and/or certification e.g., Institute of Strategic Management, Project Management Professional, Certified Marketing Management Professional (CMMP), National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN)


  • A postgraduate qualification, preferably an MBA or Relevant Master’s Degree
  • Diploma in IATA (International Air Transport Association).
