Job Purpose/summary

As Team Lead – Women Banking, you will play a crucial role in driving the bank’s initiatives towards serving the unique financial needs of women. Your primary responsibility will be to lead a team dedicated to providing tailored financial solutions, products, and services to female clients. You will be instrumental in developing strategies to attract, retain, and grow the bank’s female customer base. This role will involve deposit mobilization and liability generation towards the growth of the product’s portfolio and customer base.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Outlining and managing the Women in Business segment of the bank, focusing on the specific needs and requirements of women entrepreneurs.
  • Facilitating the growth and adoption of women banking propositions within the bank.
  • Achieving annual financial goals for the women segment, including targets related to deposits, risk assets, and revenues.
  • Creating a vibrant network and community for women in business, fostering collaboration and support.
  • Identifying and partnering with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) to attract foreign funding and grants that can benefit the women’s market.
  • Designing and updating the bank’s women’s market strategy to align with overall bank objectives and market trends.
  • Ensuring comprehensive data segregation across different business segments of the bank.
  • Coordinating efforts to build relationships with local businesses to establish and develop training opportunities.
  • Enhancing the development of women entrepreneurs in the SME sector through business advisory and capacity-building services.
  • Performing customer acceptance checks before onboarding private banking clients in accordance with the bank’s established policies and procedures.
  • Advising existing customers on their women banking objectives and financial needs by analyzing wealth management opportunities, recommending suitable in-house ‘bespoke’ financial solutions, and executing banking and financial transactions based on the customers’ instructions.
  • Promoting the delivery of financial services that cater to the diverse needs of women in different wealth groups.
  • Developing customer value propositions to address the challenges faced by the target market, which consisted of women.
  • Managing the online community and contributing to the development of newsletters, articles, and blog posts.
  • Identifying and collaborating with prominent women groups that aligned with the bank’s objectives.
  • Focusing on growing the bank’s market share in the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) space through women, both as businesswomen and influencers.
  • Liaising with the banking services team to ensure proper and timely onboarding existing customers on the mobile and CIB platform.
  • Participating in periodic sales meetings with the RM team leads to review various daily reports and deliberate follow-up plans on existing transactions for the various team members.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, management, or related field.
  • 10-15 years experience in Banking with at least a minimum of 7 years in a related/similar job role relating to Women Banking product management and execution.
  • At least 5 years in a managerial role.


Educational Requirements / Qualifications:

  • An MBA (or master’s degree) is an added advantage.
