Job Summary

Supports the MD/CEO by providing key information to various internal and external stakeholders as regards regulatory issues, marketplace needs, the competitive environment, business performance, and other pertinent issues.

Key Functions/ Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative/secretarial functions and necessary assistance to the MD/CEO in the formulation and execution of the company’s vision, current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies
  • Prepare confidential correspondence, reports, minutes of meetings, and other complex documents
  • Review business plans, activity status reports, and financial statements to determine progress toward attaining objectives
  • Provide necessary information to the MD/CEO on current industry structure, value chain, current statutory and regulatory requirements, the business implications, and an assessment of the current impact of industry drivers
  • Compile reports on business and financial analysis from business divisions to provide critical information to the MD/CEO
  • Assist the Managing Director in gathering data to define operating performance targets (measures and performance levels), developing and refining performance indicators around business processes
  • Assist the MD/CEO to develop communication material e.g. memos, research papers, and presentations
  • Keep an up-to-date and accurate diary/schedule of important activities and events and update the MD/CEO on changes as may be required, organize travel, and prepare complex travel itineraries
  • Act as custodian of corporate documents and records and create and maintain database and spreadsheet files
  • Handle telephone inquiries as appropriate on behalf of the MD/CEO, process incoming and outgoing mail, keep accounting records, and process expense claims
  • Managing the email and social media, blogs, etc. structures of the MD/CEO and coordinating the preparation of Board Papers/presentations as may be required
  • Undertake other special assignments, ad-hoc functions, and related duties specified by the Management


  • A good first University degree
  • MBA or relevant MSc will be an added advantage


  • Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in business development practice.
  • Good understanding of the financial and capital markets a key requirement
