Job Purpose/summary

As the General Manager of Business Development, you will lead the strategic growth initiatives of the organization by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with clients and partners, and driving revenue generation. You will be responsible for developing and executing business development strategies that align with the company’s objectives and contribute to its overall success.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement business development strategies and plans to achieve company growth objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential markets, products, and partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business expansion and revenue growth.
  • Lead and manage the business development team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to achieve targets and objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure alignment and synergy in business initiatives.
  • Prepare and present business proposals, pitches, and presentations to prospective clients and partners.
  • Monitor and track performance metrics, KPIs, and financial targets, reporting regularly to senior management.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, market trends, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance its visibility and reputation.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 12 years cumulative work experience, with at least 4 years in a related/similar job role
  • At least 3 years in a managerial role


  • Relevant Masters degree
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset and a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and CRM software
