Job Purpose/Summary
- To oversee the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries, desserts, and baked goods in our hotel.
- To deliver high-quality, visually appealing, and delicious products that exceed guest expectations.
Key Functions/Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and execute a wide range of pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked goods.
- Design and update dessert menus in coordination with the Executive Chef, incorporating seasonal and innovative items.
- Supervise and train pastry staff to ensure consistency and quality in all baked products.
- Monitor ingredient inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation of stock.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen according to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with hotel quality standards and health regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team for special events, banquets, and customized dessert requests.
- Manage production timelines to meet service demands without compromising quality.
- Decorate and plate desserts creatively for both buffet and à la carte presentations.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Culinary degree or certification in Baking & Pastry Arts or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional pastry experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar baking role, preferably in a hotel or high-end restaurant.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, chocolate work, sugar work, and baking principles.

- Creative flair with attention to detail in taste and presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
