Job Purpose/summary
- Issue tickets to customers
- To keep track of the purchase of tickets on the company’s website.
- Monitor the payment of tickets issues on the website and the appropriate remittance to regulatory bodies and airlines.
- To render travel advisory services to customers
Key Functions/Responsibilities
Ticketing Management:
- Issue airline tickets, including handling complex cases such as modifications, reissuance, and refunds.
- Accurately calculate fares based on airline tariffs, promotional offers, and client preferences.
- Input and maintain customer information in the computer system to facilitate ticket issuance and record updates.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and airline-specific policies during ticket issuance.
- Manage ticket fee collection, ensuring accurate recording and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor and report on the percentage of tickets sold versus the amount collected.
- Implement and follow effective procedures for ticketing to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to industry standards.
Customer Assistance:
- Handling intricate customer scenarios, including ticket modifications, reissuance, and refunds.
- Providing expert assistance to resolve customer issues effectively.
- Assisting customers who have made travel purchases, handling reservation confirmations, changes, and cancellations.
- Promoting additional travel products, such as tour tickets, travel insurance, upgraded seats, or accommodations.
- Providing guidance to customers on ticketing inquiries, costs, and travel schedules.
Efficient Record Keeping:
- Inputting and maintaining customer information in the computer system to issue tickets and update records for future needs.
- Managing scheduling of flights based on customer requirements and available options, considering factors like weather conditions.
- Accurately calculating fares based on airline tariffs, promotional offers, and client preferences.
Trip Planning and Assistance:
- Collaborate with customers to plan travel itineraries tailored to their preferences and needs.
- Provide expert guidance on destinations, routes, layovers, and connecting flights.
- Offer recommendations for travel logistics, accommodations, and activities to enhance the overall travel experience.
Education:
Required:
- BSc. in English, Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business or relevant field
- Minimum 8 years cumulative experience with 5 years working experience as a Travel Consultant
- Excellent knowledge of traveling software (computer reservations systems, GDS systems and e-travel) and any other one related to Visa and Immigration Consultancy
Desirable:
- A postgraduate qualification, preferably an MBA or Relevant Master’s Degree
- Diploma in IATA (International Air Transport Association).
