CEO/Managing Partner

Helen Onokwai the Managing Partner of Purple Star Consulting Limited Nigeria is a HR professional with over 15 years ‘s experience.

Helen holds a first degree in Political Science from the University of Lagos, an MBA from the University of Bradford, and a Diploma in Human Resources.

She is also a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, and Member of the Young Institute of Directors (IoD).

Prior to founding Purple Star Consulting Limited, Helen worked with the Police Service Commission where she also completed her youth services, she then went on to work for some of the most prestigious companies in Nigeria which include PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and FMDQ.

She has a demonstrable track record of successfully developing, implementing and delivering strategies that drive the successful achievement of business intents. Her areas of expertise include Talent Management, Performance Management, Organisation Development, Culture and Acculturation Management, HR Transformation, Change Management, Project Management and Corporate Responsibility.

Helen has worked for and with businesses across different sectors (locally and internationally): including the Public Sector, Financial Services, Oil & Gas, FMCG, EPC, Advertising, Manufacturing, Education, NGO, and Consulting.

This diverse experience has given her a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing each industry and has enabled her to develop, an innovative and effective HR solutions firm that is equipped to drive business growth.

In her previous roles, she has been responsible for leading HR teams and partnering with senior leaders to create and implement HR strategies that align with overall business objectives. She has a proven track record of success in building high-performing teams, creating, and implementing effective performance management systems, developing, and implementing HR policies and procedures, and driving HR transformation initiatives.

Having worked for these companies and as a personal goal, Helen founded Purple Star Consulting Limited a business and management consulting firm that provides Human Resources, Organizational Development and Strategy, advisory services to Organizations in both the Private and Public sectors.
As an HR professional, she is passionate about creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture that supports employee engagement, development, and retention. She believes in using data-driven insights and a collaborative approach to create effective HR solutions that drive business results and promote employee well-being, all these qualities are what Purple Star Consulting will offer its stakeholders.
