Job Purpose/summary

As the CFO, you will be responsible for maintaining and driving of the financial operational efficiency of the company. This would include financial planning and analysis, accounting, budget management, financial reporting and stakeholder relations.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives and growth.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization and capital allocation.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the financial department.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and conferences to communicate the company’s financial performance and growth strategy
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely reports to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Develop annual operating budget and long-term financial plans in collaboration with other departments.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks such as credit risk, market risk and operational risk.
  • Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit
  • Provide direct responsibility for compliance costs, such as external audit, and minimizing irrecoverable VAT.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure true representation of the company’s financial position in the Financial Audit Report.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • First degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field with at least Second Class Upper Degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 4 years in a managerial position.
  • Proven track record of financial management, budgeting, budgeting and strategic planning.
  • Professional membership and or certification from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA)

Desired

  • An MBA (or master’s degree) is an added advantage.
