Job Purpose/summary

As an experienced Telecoms Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing towards the preparation of Telecoms deliverables for Conceptual/Basic, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Engineering Design (DED) for Oil/Gas Facilities and Buildings.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Prepare and Issue Telecoms design deliverables such as Specifications for CCTV, Specification and Datasheet for Fibre Optic Cable, Specification and Datasheet for Access Control System, Telecommunication Philosophy, Specification and Datasheet for PAGA System, Specification for Access Control system, Telecom Cable Schedules, CCTV Layouts, Access Control Layout Drawings, MTOs for Telecommunication equipment’s and mark ups on drawings.
  • Prepare Material requisitions, Technical bid evaluations, and review suppliers’ documents for telecommunications equipment.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and contractors on systems interfaces (electrical and instrumentation and Fire and Gas).
  • Prepare response to technical issues/queries from clients and vendors
  • Provide input to preparation of tenders and Cost Time Resource (CTR) estimates for proposals.
  • Conduct Site visit and submit detailed reports
  • Participate in project reviews, design reviews, audits and other workshops as required
  • Review integrated control and safety systems.
  • Systems pre-commissioning and commissioning.
  • Perform Inter-discipline check and Job assignments.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • B.Eng. Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Proficient in Telecommunication Engineering System.
  • Experienced in Conceptual/ Basic and Detailed Engineering design for Telecommunications systems (PAGA, Fibre optic Cable, CCTV, Access Control System and others)
  • Telecommunications systems integration
  • Brownfield site telecoms infrastructure upgrades and power dimensioning.
  • Transmission network planning, installation and commissioning employing various transmission media such as Vsat, fibre optics and microwave radios
  • Telecommunications systems testing and commissioning
  • Base station systems implementation and integration
