Job Purpose/Summary

The Business Development Manager candidate will serve as the critical link between our firm and potential clients, working closely with senior leadership and consulting teams to understand client needs, craft compelling value propositions, and convert opportunities into long term partnerships. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and positioning our consulting services as the preferred solution for organizations seeking transformation and operational efficiency.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive lead generation, referrals, cold outreach, and networking.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective clients across key industries.
  • Develop and implement effective business development strategies that align with the firm’s overall growth objectives.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas of differentiation.
  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of proposals, pitch decks, capability statements, and bid submissions.
  • Work closely with internal consulting teams to design tailored solutions that meet client needs and expectations.
  • Establish and maintain strong, long term client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Organize and facilitate client meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions.
  • Represent the firm at conferences, seminars, networking events, and industry forums to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support branding, thought leadership, and lead generation campaigns.
  • Monitor business development KPIs and prepare regular reports on progress, forecasts, and wins or losses for senior management.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, consulting best practices, and emerging client challenges.
  • Support contract negotiations, pricing strategy development, and deal structuring in coordination with legal and finance teams.
  • Actively contribute to the refinement of the firm’s service offerings based on client feedback and market demand.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field. MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, preferably in consulting, professional services, or B2B sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian business landscape and consulting industry.
  • Experience in drafting proposals, leading presentations, and negotiating contracts with senior executives.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and securing high value deals
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suit and CRM tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce.
