Job Purpose/Summary:
The Head of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing will spearhead the hospital’s group supply chain transformation by leveraging data-driven demand planning and strategic purchasing. This critical leadership role will ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality medical supplies at optimal costs, strengthen vendor relationships, and enhance reporting and compliance frameworks. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in achieving cost-efficiency, operational excellence, and scalability through proactive demand forecasting, strategic sourcing, and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement advanced analytics for accurate demand forecasting.
- Reduce stock-outs and excess inventory through precise predictions.
- Develop group-wide sourcing strategies that achieve economies of scale.
- Directly collaborate with manufacturers to secure competitive pricing.
- Establish dashboards for real-time procurement monitoring.
- Ensure strict adherence to regulatory and hospital policies.
- Optimize vendor performance through robust assessment frameworks.
- Negotiate long-term agreements ensuring cost savings and reliability.
- Eliminate inefficiencies with Lean tools.
- Measure and improve key processes with Six Sigma methodologies.
- Identify and implement revenue-generating procurement strategies.
- Attract global manufacturers to co-develop localized products.
- Build a data-driven, innovative procurement team.
- Provide mentorship and ensure alignment with best practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably within the healthcare or complex supply chains.
- APICS Certified in Production in Supply Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred.
Desired:
- A relevant Master’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher expertise
