Job Title: Senior Tax Consultant

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Job Purpose/Summary

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations and be able to apply this knowledge to help clients optimize their tax strategy and minimize their tax liability.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

• Provide tax consulting services to clients, including tax planning, compliance, and audit support
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations and advise clients on how these changes may impact their tax strategy
• Conduct tax research and analysis to identify tax savings opportunities and develop tax planning strategies for clients
• Collaborate with other members of the tax team to ensure client needs are met and that work is completed on time and to a high standard
• Review tax returns prepared by junior team members and provide guidance and feedback as needed
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and act as a trusted advisor on tax matters
• Participate in business development activities, such as client pitches and proposal writing
• Mentor and train junior team members on tax-related matters

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• At least 10 years of experience working in tax consulting
• ACA/ACCA/ CITN certification is required
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, with a focus on corporate tax and individual tax planning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
