Job Purpose/Summary
This role involves overseeing the financial reporting process, conducting technical accounting research, and collaborating with internal and external auditors to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
Key Functions/Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accounting processes/procedures are effective and comply with regulatory and statutory requirements
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Coordinate activities of statutory examiners (e.g. external auditors, Internal Revenue Service, etc.)
- Communicate financial information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders, including management, investors, and auditors.
- Develop and maintain an effective financial information system that enables the production of periodic financial and management reports as required
- Assist with the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets and participate in special projects
- Perform any other assignments as delegated by the Head, Finance & Accounts
Qualifications:
Required:
- A minimum of B.Sc. in Economics, Accounting, or any other related course of study is required
- A minimum of 7 years of cognate work experience
- Candidate must be from the Big 4 Accounting firms that have provided such services for the Financial sector preferably the Capital Market
- Knowledge of Accounting work standards related to Account Reporting & Budgeting, Treasury & Funds Management, Assets & Liabilities Management, Taxation, etc.
- Possession of relevant Professional qualifications like ICAN, ACCA, and CFA.

- A relevant Master’s degree will be an added advantage
