Job Purpose/Summary

As a Finance Manager, you will oversee the tax management, account receivable and payable management, budgeting implementation and control, treasury operations, bank reconciliation, and financial statement preparation in line with IFRS standards.

Key Functions/Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily posting and reconciliation of accounts receivables and payables to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting for strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank statements to identify discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Ensure daily processing of payments and disbursements, verifying documentation and authorizations to maintain compliance.
  • Manage petty cash transactions, monitor expenditures, and oversee cheque issuance for operational expenses.
  • Ensure efficient treasury operations, optimize cash flow management, and oversee liquidity planning.
  • Lead the preparation, implementation, and monitoring of the annual budget to control expenditures and align with business objectives.

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, prepare and submit statutory returns, and liaise with tax officials during audits.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure financial records meet regulatory and company standards.
  • Oversee timely remittance of statutory payments, including pensions, taxes, and other regulatory obligations.
  • Conduct financial statement analysis to provide insights that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency in financial operations.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager to support overall financial strategy and operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in financial management or similar role with at least 3 years in a managerial position
  • Possession of Chartered Accountant certification (ACCA or ACA) is mandatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting standards, tax regulations and industry legislation
  • Proven experience in financial strategy and planning.
