Job Purpose/Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to oversee the hospital’s technical operations, including biomedical engineering, equipment maintenance, manufacturing, and facility management. This role ensures that all hospital facilities, utilities, and critical systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Management & Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of hospital infrastructure, including HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, plumbing, and safety systems.
- Manage backup power systems, including generators and UPS, to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to minimize system downtime.
- Plan and execute facility renovations, expansions, and upgrades.
- Develop and implement energy management strategies to optimize utility consumption.
Electrical Systems Oversight:
- Ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, and power supply networks.
- Supervise the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with local and international electrical codes and safety standards.
- Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized electrical services and system upgrades.
Technical Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and implement technical strategies aligned with the hospital’s operational goals.
- Stay updated on emerging building technologies and engineering best practices.
- Prepare reports on facility operations, maintenance costs, and performance metrics.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of construction and renovation projects.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and milestones.
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure that all hospital systems and facilities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate technical risks.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for policies, procedures, and technical implementations.
Team Management & Technical Support:
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing technical team.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for technical support and facility management.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with hospital leadership, clinical staff, and external vendors to align technical solutions with operational needs.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in decision-making processes regarding facility and technology investments.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a Technical Manager, Facility Manager, or similar role in a hospital or large-scale infrastructure environment.
- Strong knowledge of facility management, electrical systems, and building infrastructure maintenance.
- Experience with project management methodologies and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
